🏛️ About Domenico Clerico

Domenico Clerico was a legendary winemaker and pioneering leader of the "Barolo Boys" who revolutionized Italian wine in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1976, he challenged the local cooperative model by estate-bottling his own wines, eventually expanding his father's modest 4-hectare farm in Monforte d'Alba into a 21-hectare estate.

A champion of modern winemaking, he introduced barrique aging and longer macerations to craft richer, more approachable Barolos. His single-vineyard crus, including Ciabot Mentin Ginestra and Pajana remain globally acclaimed for their depth and expression of Piedmont's unique terroir. Following his passing in 2017, his wife Giuliana, winemaker Oscar Arrivabene, and the next generation continue to uphold his remarkable legacy.

🏛️ About Hudson Vineyards

A 810-hectare Carneros ranch planted in 1981 by Lee Hudson, with nearly 80 hectares of vines on the Napa side just north of San Pablo Bay. The estate has become one of California's most coveted vineyard sources supplying fruit to cult producers like Kistler, Kongsgaard, Aubert, and Failla. The land itself is steeped in history: in the 1880s, it was the site of America's first successful experiments developing phylloxera-resistant rootstocks. Today, Hudson crafts its own single-vineyard wines while continuing to farm unusual varieties rarely seen in Napa.

Founded in 2015 by Matthieu Rollin and Nicolas Seffusatti, Domaine Cassagne & Vitailles is the realisation of a childhood dream and 10 years of determination. Nestled in the Terrasses du Larzac, between sea and mountain, the 7-hectare estate benefits from diverse Mediterranean terroirs such as clay, limestone, and sandstone soils at altitude that ensure natural drainage and freshness. Working the vines by hand with organic compost and controlled yields, the duo crafts intense yet elegant reds from Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Cinsault, wines defined by fine tannins, bright red fruit, and subtle spice.
