🍇 About the Wines

- Chateau Montelena (Napa Valley)

The winery that shocked the world at the 1976 Judgment of Paris, where its Chardonnay beat the finest white Burgundies in a blind tasting. Decades later, it remains one of Napa's most iconic estates and a symbol of California's arrival on the global stage.

- Ridge Monte Bello (Santa Cruz Mountains)

Consistently ranked among the world's greatest Cabernet-based wines, Monte Bello comes from limestone vineyards at 400–800 metres elevation above Silicon Valley.

- Stag's Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. (Napa Valley)

The other Judgment of Paris legend, the 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon defeated Bordeaux's finest First Growths. Tonight's 2000 vintage offers a rare chance to taste this icon with 25 years of bottle age.

- Heitz Cellar Martha's Vineyard (Napa Valley)

One of California's first single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons and arguably its most collectible. Known for its signature eucalyptus and mint character, Martha's Vineyard is allocated, scarce, and almost never poured at tastings.

Discovering Indigenous Grapes with Julián Ruiz Zamora from El Regreso Wines

Date
Jul 16, 2026 6:30 PM
Venue
La Cabane Bistro, 62 Hollywood Rd, Central

Join winemaker Julián Ruiz Zamora of El Regreso for a special evening at La Cabane Bistro. Dedicated to recovering indigenous grape varieties from Manchuela, in Spain, with some from vines over 80 years old. Julián will pour four of his wines alongside a selection of Spanish tapas. A rare chance to taste varieties you won't find anywhere else.

—

🍷 The Wines

• El Regreso Gogo 2024 — Tardana.

• El Regreso Moravia 2024 — Moravia from 80-year-old pie franco vines.

• El Regreso La Mola 2024 — Moscatel, direct press.

• El Regreso Marisancho 2024 — 90-year-old pie franco Marisancho vines.

—

🏛️ About the Producer

El Regreso is a small-production winery in Manchuela, central Spain, founded by Julián Ruiz Zamora with a singular mission: to rescue indigenous grape varieties on the verge of extinction. Working with ancient pie franco (ungrafted) vines, with some nearly a century old, the estate produces minimal-intervention wines that reflect a forgotten chapter of Spanish viticulture. Each bottle is an act of preservation, giving voice to grapes like Moravia, Tardana, and Marisancho that have all but disappeared from the modern wine landscape.

🏛️ About the Producer

Revived in 2018 by friends Michael Le Guellec and Arnaud Ducouet, the estate draws on family vines held since 1920, including the rare walled Clos Champ monopole (parts planted in 1930s & 1988) and Les Jeunes Rois (1965). Under Pierre Millemann's guidance, they use sustainable, organic practices and minimal intervention to express pure Gevrey-Chambertin terroir.

Winemaking is precise and gentle: cool macerations in stainless steel, minimal extraction, and thoughtfully chosen oak (around 30% new, matched plot-by-plot). Stems are used flexibly by vintage. The focus is purity, terroir and finesse with classic Gevrey power.

🍇 About Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is one of the world's most celebrated and temperamental grape varieties, originating in Burgundy over two thousand years ago. Thin-skinned and highly sensitive to its environment, it acts as a mirror of terroir, reflecting soil, climate, and winemaking philosophy more transparently than almost any other variety.

From the limestone slopes of the Côte de Nuits to the schist terraces of Central Otago, from the volcanic soils of Hokkaido to the cool-climate hillsides of Baden, Pinot Noir rewards curiosity. It can be silky and perfumed, earthy and structured, or bright and fruit-driven  but it is never boring.

🏛️ About Domaine Tinnyu

Domaine Tinnyu (田与) is a remarkable wine estate located in Shangri-La, Yunnan, China. Founded in 2021 by a duo trained in France, the domaine produces high-altitude wines from vineyards perched between 2,600 and 2,800 metres in Tibetan villages, including the village of A-Dong.

The name "Tinnyu" derives from the Cantonese pronunciation of 田与, meaning "Land and…”, a philosophy rooted in the relationship between earth and craft. The extreme altitude preserves striking alpine acidity and freshness in the wines, while regenerative agriculture principles guide the farming, eliminating synthetic chemicals to protect the local ecosystem and soils.

The estate spans 1.12 ha of hand-tended micro-parcels mapped across 14 distinct blocks. In 2021, the first lease began with 0.12 ha of Chardonnay in A-Dong Village, planted in 2008. To deepen complexity, 0.44 ha in Xi-Da Village at 2,800 metres was subdivided into eight regeneratively farmed micro-parcels. When Mei-Li-Shi Village faced relocation in 2024, 0.17 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon was planted to preserve its sun-drenched riverbank terroir. Each plot is farmed by hand and documented season by season.
