About Frescobaldi
The Frescobaldi legacy dates back to the early 1300s, when the family began producing wine at Tenuta di Castiglioni, southwest of Florence. By the 1400s, the estate had gained renown for supplying wines to Renaissance figures such as Donatello, and Frescobaldi wines were served at both the Papal Court and the English court of King Henry VIII.
Since 2005, the Frescobaldi family has owned the world‑famous Bolgheri Super Tuscans Masseto and Ornellaia, as well as Tenuta Luce in Montalcino.
Among its distinguished Tuscan estates:
• Castello Nipozzano (Chianti Rufina), home to Montesodi and Mormoreto
• Tenuta Perano (Chianti Classico)
• Tenuta Castelgiocondo (Montalcino)
• Tenuta Calimaia (Montepulciano – Vino Nobile)
• Tenuta Ammiraglia (Maremma Toscana)
• Tenuta Castiglioni (Toscana IGT & Chianti)
• Castello Pomino (renowned for Chardonnay and sparkling cuvées)
• Gorgona, a unique collaboration on the Tuscan island of the same name
Beyond Tuscany, the family also owns Attems in Friuli‑Venezia Giulia, and the cross‑regional brand Danzante.
