🌿 About Charles Heintz Vineyard
Charles Heintz Ranch sits on the second ridge in from the Pacific Ocean at 900 ft. elevation in western Sonoma County's Occidental region, within the West Sonoma Coast AVA. Farmed by the Heintz family for over 100 years and elevated by third-generation grower Charles Heintz, the vineyard has been one of California's most important sources of premium Chardonnay since the 1990s.
Littorai, under Ted Lemon, the first American to serve as winemaker at a Burgundy domaine (Domaine Guy Roulot in Meursault) became the first producer to bottle a single-vineyard Charles Heintz Chardonnay in 1994, establishing the site's reputation for Burgundian tension and mineral drive. DuMOL's 'Isobel' bottling, crafted by Andy Smith, showcases a richer, more textural Californian classicism, creamy, layered, and built for the cellar. Senses, the passion project of three childhood friends from Occidental, delivers a newer-generation perspective, energetic, precise, and full of surprises.
The proximity to the Pacific delivers early bud break, moderate summers, and an extended "Indian summer" that pushes harvest into October. The soil is Goldridge sandy loam, prized for drainage and mineral complexity. The 55-acre site is planted to Chardonnay (Clone 4, planted 1982), Pinot Noir, and Syrah and its client list reads like a who's who of California fine wine: Littorai, DuMOL, Williams Selyem, Ceritas, Senses, Cruse Wine Co., Flowers, Freeman, and more.

🍷 Wine List

• Vincent Gaudry – Sancerre 'Mont Damné' 2022

🌿 About Mont Damné & Clos la Néore
Mont Damné, ”the Damned Mountain" is a steep, south-facing hillside rising above the village of Chavignol in the Sancerre appellation, Central Loire Valley. With gradients exceeding 50% and soils of Kimmeridgian marl and limestone, the same geological formation found in Chablis and parts of Champagne.
It is widely regarded as Sancerre's unofficial Grand Cru, producing Sauvignon Blancs of extraordinary concentration, mineral complexity, and age-worthiness.
Didier Dagueneau, the legendary and iconoclastic vigneron of Pouilly-Fumé, acquired a parcel on Mont Damné to create what he believed could be the ultimate expression of Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Following his tragic passing in 2008, son Louis-Benjamin has continued the vision with the same biodynamic rigour and uncompromising winemaking, the Sancerre 'Le Mont Damné' remains one of the most structured and cellar-worthy wines of the appellation.
Clos la Néore, while technically a separate walled lieu-dit adjacent to Mont Damné in Chavignol, is arguably Sancerre's single most mythical vineyard. Edmond Vatan's tiny production from old vines, often fewer than 3,000 bottles per vintage has achieved near-unicorn status among collectors. Precise, crystalline, and hauntingly pure, it represents Sancerre at its most ethereal.
Vincent Gaudry, farming biodynamically in Sury-en-Vaux, brings a fresher, more naturel-inflected perspective to Mont Damné such as vibrant, sapid, and alive with energy. A rising star whose Mont Damné bottling has earned a devoted following among sommeliers and natural-wine circles alike.

🍷 Wine List

• Massolino – Barolo 'Margheria' 2017
• Zymé – Barolo Riserva 'Vigna Rionda' 2015

🍷 About the Vineyards & Producers
Serralunga d'Alba is one of the five great communes of Barolo, renowned for producing the most structured, powerful, and long-lived expressions of Nebbiolo in the Langhe. Its soils, predominantly compacted Lequio Formation marlstone and sandstone, poor in fertility and rich in mineral content give wines of extraordinary backbone, tannic architecture, and cellar potential.
• Parafada — South-southwest exposure on lighter, sandier soils. The most aromatic and approachable of the three MGAs, offering vibrant red fruit, floral perfume, and an elegant, lifted character.
• Margheria — Due south exposure with classic Serralunga marl. Spicier, earthier, and more brooding — a wine of savoury depth and complexity that rewards patience.
• Vigna Rionda — Widely considered one of the greatest single-vineyard sites in all of Barolo. A grand south-southwest-facing amphitheatre with ideal exposure, altitude (300–350m), and ancient calcareous-clay soils.
🌿 About the Producer: Massolino
Massolino, founded in 1896, is one of Serralunga's most historically important estates. Now in its fourth generation, the domaine remains a bastion of traditional Barolo winemaking such as long macerations, large Slavonian oak botti, and a patient, terroir-first philosophy. Their single-vineyard Barolos are textbook expressions of site, showcasing the power and structure that Serralunga d'Alba is renowned for while maintaining a purity and restraint that speaks to over a century of accumulated wisdom in the vineyard and cellar.
🌿 About the Producer: Zymé
Zymé is the Valpolicella-based estate of Celestino Gaspari, a former protégé of Giuseppe Quintarelli, arguably the greatest name in Amarone's history. After years working alongside the legendary master, Gaspari founded Zymé in 2003 with a philosophy rooted in Quintarelli's uncompromising standards but with a more modern, experimental edge. While the estate is best known for its Amarone and the flagship "Harlequin" blend (made from over a dozen grape varieties), Gaspari has extended his reach into Barolo with a prized Riserva from Vigna Rionda in Serralunga d'Alba, proving that his obsession with terroir and tradition transcends regional boundaries.

🏛️ About the Domaine
Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon is a family estate in Vosne-Romanée established in 1938 and led since 1991 by Jean-Pierre and his wife Isabelle. The domaine farms 9 hectares across the Côte de Nuits, including Vosne-Romanée, Échezeaux, Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges with vines averaging 45 to 85 years old, lending intense concentration and depth.
Certified organic (ECOCERT, 2012) and farmed biodynamically, the estate follows lunar cycles and employs minimal intervention throughout. Since 2016, vinification has evolved towards Jean-Pierre's signature "en nuage" technique, a very long sorting table where 30 people cut bunches into smaller parts for severe selection, followed by long, gentle cuvaison, more infusion than extraction. Only minimal sulphur is added before bottling, often without fining or filtration.
